in motion

The world is in a constant state of motion. The world spins. Humans, even at rest, are in some state of movement: the breath, a twitch, the beating of our heart. It is all motion. So what happens when we take a moment in time and ‘move it’? For me, that is my series of photographs ‘in motion’.

From lakes to forests to the city streets,  ‘in motion’ takes landscapes, nature and cityscapes and gives them a new perspective. It gives them each a movement beyond just that of the wind or the passing of a car. Using a long exposure and purposeful camera movement, ‘in motion’ has created innovative scenes of the everyday. Some calm, some whimsical and others hard to define, ‘in motion’ draws the viewers in to the abstract scene where they can explore the lines, the colour, the movement or just get lost in it all.
