Hi, I’m Brian Douglas. I am a Social Worker, Grief Therapist & Legacy Storyteller.
I help people heal through grief therapy and preserve what matters most through legacy films & reflection projects. I’m a registered social worker and therapist who specializes in supporting people through grief, loss, trauma, and the unexpected curve balls life throws at us. I offer grief therapy and EMDR for individuals who are working through painful or overwhelming experiences.
Alongside this therapeutic work, I also create legacy projects for individuals and families who want to preserve what matters most.
When someone is facing illness, aging, or a major life transition — or when a family is living with grief — there is often a deep wish to hold on to their story, their voice, and the things that make them who they are.
I create legacy projects that do exactly that.
Some are full documentary-style films. Some are simpler recorded story sessions. Some are guided reflection projects that help people make sense of their life and leave something meaningful behind.
All of them are created with care, dignity, and a therapeutic understanding of what these moments carry.
Whether you’re grieving a loved one, adjusting to a major change, or feeling stuck in the weight of your emotions — you’re in the right place.
My approach is compassionate, down-to-earth, and grounded in real conversations.
Together, we’ll create a safe space where your story is heard, your emotions are valid, and your healing is possible.
This work supports people who feel stuck in grief, overwhelmed by loss, navigating transitions, or wanting to preserve meaning and memory.
I help individuals and families capture voice, memory, and meaning through legacy films and guided reflection — especially in the context of grief, illness, and life transitions.
Part documentary. Part therapeutic conversation. Part memory-keeping.
This work is for:
I’m a registered social worker and a filmmaker. That means I’m not just capturing images — I’m holding space for real conversations.
I guide the process gently and at your pace. You don’t need to know what to say or how to tell your story. That’s part of what I help with.
We talk. We remember. We reflect. And from that, we create something that lasts.
A full documentary-style film combining a guided interview, photos, and video into a lasting family keepsake.
A simpler, more accessible recorded conversation that preserves someone’s story in their own words.
A series of reflective sessions for people who want to make meaning of their life, experiences, or transitions — and create something tangible from it.

If you’re feeling the weight of time, change, or loss — and you want to hold onto what matters — we can talk.
The first step is a simple conversation.
I decided to focus on grief therapy because I’ve seen firsthand how isolating grief and trauma can feel. In our society, we’re often taught to “be strong” or “move on” — but that leaves so many people struggling in silence.
My practice is rooted in the belief that grief deserves space. That trauma can soften when it’s witnessed. And that healing is not about “fixing” what’s broken, but about finding ways to live with both the love and the loss.
I bring together my background as a registered social worker with years of experience in grief and trauma therapy, along with my passion for legacy work (helping people preserve stories, memories, and meaning). My style is collaborative, compassionate, and practical.
When I’m not supporting clients, you’ll often find me outdoors, reflecting, creating, or sharing through my project Let’s Get Griefy — a space where grief and mental health conversations are made more human.
